2007 – 2012: Part of the senior management team of BMW Group, responsible for all insurance aspects of the Group. Managing Director of Bavaria Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH, inhouse broker of BMW Group, Chairman of the Board of Bavaria Reinsurance Company Malta Ltd, Chairman of the Board of Bavaria Insurance Company Ltd, Dublin. Member of the Risk Management Steering Committee of BMW Group.
2008 – 2013: Member of the non-executive Consultancy Council of Torus Group.
1998 – 2007: Part of the senior management team of ARBED/Arcelor/ArcelorMittal, responsible for all insurance aspects of the Group. Managing Director of the inhouse broker, founder of the Reinsurance Company COREA in Luxemburg and from the beginning until leaving the Group, Chairman of the Board. Board member of the Captive Reinsurance Company of Mittalsteel in the Isle of Man.
Altogether 15 years experience in handling the insurance issues of an international industrial company in the relevant insurance markets, i.e. Continental Europe, UK, US, Brasil and China. All branches, i.e. Property and Casualty plus Financial Lines. In addition to this broking experience for non-Group business, which was acquired in addition to the Group business, mainly industrial customers with international exposure.
1983 – 1998: Underwriting and management experience on the direct (UAP, now AXA, Gerling and Zurich) and reinsurance side (Cologne Reinsurance Company). 1983: Dr.-Ing. (PhD) in Engineering, subject: Flood forecasting.
